Our #12 (11.5oz) Unprimed Art Canvas is a "Grade A" premium double filled or "plied yarn" duck. This makes it both smoother and more durable than single fill duck. While we do sell primed art canvas, many artists prefer to apply gesso after stretching. Priming your own canvas requires extra time, but it allows you to choose the exact primer to fit your requirements. When using acrylic paints, some artists will leave the canvas unprimed although most sources seem to recommend priming even for acrylic.
We sell this non-primed canvas by the full 50 yard roll for maximum savings. Really want to save? Order two or more rolls for maximum discount. Plus, you'll have plenty on hand so you're never at a loss when the creative inspiration hits full force.
