Our waxed canvas in Black #10 (15oz) is one tough cookie. This is a rugged, heavy, durable multi-purpose canvas. Its "double filled" weave construction gives it extra strength and makes it very resistant to tearing. Waxed canvas by nature is water repellent, and the premium wax finish helps extend its usable life.
This heavyweight black fabric will work very well for so many projects. Of course, black goes well with just about everything—or it's a stunner on its own.
You probably already know that waxed canvas requires minimal care to maintain its 'look' and typically doesn't need to be washed. The wax formula is non-toxic/non-hazardous, and you'll find this heavy canvas holds up extremely well in just about any condition, hot or cold.
For this heavy fabric, you'll want to use a larger needle and (possibly) an industrial sewing machine, though we have had success on some "heavy duty" home machines. Our bonded polyester sewing thread is just the ticket for this.

Well, the sky's the limit, but we've seen a ton of backpacks (so popular), tote bags (also popular), hats, equestrian accessories, vests, dog gear, dog beds, work aprons and outdoor gear. As soon as you get your hands on it, the ideas will pop!
Like the Duke
Our rugged waxed canvas has a long lifespan, and many people compare it to leather because of the way it ages and patinas over time. Everyday use will leave wrinkles and 'craze marks.' This is to be expected. In fact, these are what gives waxed canvas a weathered appearance. If you really wanted to, you could reduce the marks with a hair dryer. However, most people choose wax canvas (in part) for this vintage or 'worn' look. This really is a unique material!
