Waxed canvas fabric has a finish that makes it water repellent and helps extend the life of the material. Our Dark Oak (brown) waxed canvas is a color that will work extremely well for oh-so-many projects. This 10oz Army Duck waxed is a wonderful multipurpose fabric woven with a tight, plied yarn weave construction which makes it strong and resistant to tearing.
An extremely popular fabric, waxed canvas requires a minimum of care to maintain its 'look' and typically does not need to be washed. This wax formula is non-toxic and non-hazardous, and you'll find this fabric performs great in virtually all conditions including both hot and cold temperatures. If you're worried about sewing, don't be. We hear comments like "it sews great!" regularly. The high-quality wax won't transfer to other surfaces under typical use.

What a Character!
Our waxed canvas has a long lifespan, and is a lot like leather in the way it patinas and ages with time. Regular use creates lines, wrinkles and 'craze marks.' This is good! This should be expected—it's what gives waxed canvas its unique appearance. You could reduce these marks with the heat from a hair dryer, but we suggest leaving them. Most people want this vintage or 'worn' look you'll find in no other material!
